WhatsApp for Desktop finally arrives on PC and Mac

WhatsApp is enjoying near a billion customers to facilitate and expedite the communication. It has got all the major features that you can expect from a chatting platform i.e. messaging, audio and video calling, file sharing and others. The only missing point was a desktop app that has now been covered. WhatsApp for desktop is finally here with apps for both PC and Mac.

Ban in January 2015, WhatsApp Web was launched to cater the users who want to use the service on their laptop through internet. Now, WhatsApp for desktop has been introduced that works similar to the mobile app. You can respond to messages via text, voice, photos and documents. It does require a same internet connection to work.

Just like the web version, WhatsApp for desktop also lacks voice calling feature. The feature is already there in both apps. There were previously rumors that the desktop app would features voice calling as well, but this had not proved to be true.

However, it’s still worthy news for WhatsApp users. Now, they can download & enjoy the same experience on their PCs. PC having Windows 8 or higher, Mac with OS 10.9 or later version can download the app. You can download the app from HERE. To use WhatsApp for desktop app, you should have the mobile app in your device. Simply, launch the desktop app and mobile app. Now, scan the QR code on the desktop app using your phone. As the QR code gets recognized, you can enjoy WhatsApp on your desktop.

Personally, I don’t like this requirement of keeping internet connection active on mobile app to use WhatsApp for desktop or web. What’s your thoughts on this? Don’t miss to write to us below.
