Ufone charges default data tariff for WhatsApp Calls

WhatsApp is one of a widely used chatting service across the world including Pakistan. With 3G and 4G introduction in the country, many Pakistani users have started using the popular messaging app. WhatsApp has recently launched its voice call service. You can now call to your dear ones with WhatsApp calling feature for FREE. The users have admired the new call feature, labelling it ‘best and clear’. Considering this, Ufone has now decided to charge WhatsApp calls with default data tariff.

It means you can’t use any 3G bundle for WhatsApp calls. Whatever your internet package is, WhatsApp calls will be charged as per Ufone regular data tariff. Ufone default tariff is Rs. 20 for first MB and then 19 MB free. WhatsApp quality voice call feature has certainly turned out to be a threat for the telcos. Therefore, Ufone has considered this move.

You can still chat, write a status and upload a picture on WhatsApp as per your internet bundle pricing. We can expect some more telcos to use default tariff for WhatsApp calls like Ufone.

What are your thoughts on this move of Ufone, guys?
