Google CEO Sundar Pichai is now the highest paid CEO in the US

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has been paid $199 million worth of shares (amounting to 273,328). This has made him the highest paid CEO in the US. As per Credit Suisse, this award takes the value of Pichai’s Alphabet holding to roughly $650 million which is 14,400 times more than the average net worth of US citizens.

However, still this figure is still short of that made by Google’s founders i.e. Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Both are worth $34.6 billion and $33.9 billion respectively by Forbes. Apart from Sundar Pichai, CFO Ruth Porat was awarded shares worth $38 million and Head of Google’s Cloud Computing Business Diane Green was also handed shares worth $42.8 million.

Back in October 2015 when Google’s new parent company was formed, Sundar Pichai was made the CEO of Google. In his twelve years of service to the company, Pichai has headed over various important projects including Chrome browser and Android OS. His efforts were admired when he was eventually given the post of CEO of Google.

Sundar Pichai now stands as the highest paid executive in the US which surely reflects his capabilities and hard work for the company.
