For the 2nd time, State Bank of Pakistan has launched SMS service for issuance of fresh notes on Eid-ul-Azha. Previously, the service was introduced first on Eid-ul-Fitr. The people showed positive response to the mobile SMS service on Eid-ul-Fitr. A large number of people utilized the service for getting new currency notes on the holy occasion.
State Bank of Pakistan has collaborated with Pakistan’s Bank Association (PBA) for this service. The currency notes will be available from 335 commercial bank branches and SBP BSC offices in 92 cities across Pakistan. The issuance of fresh notes via mobile service will start from September 14.
To avail this service, you need to send your CNIC number along with branch code i.e. CNIC number
Remember, the transaction code will be valid for two working days only. You will be required to visit the bank, show them the CNIC number and transaction code and collect the defined quota of fresh notes. It should be noted that the quota of fresh notes will comprise of two packets of Rs. 10 and one packet of Rs. 50 with an optional packet of Rs. 100 if available in stock.
The person can get new currency notes only once from his mobile number using his/her CNIC. Any message sent to the service will cost Rs. 2+tax. You may be required to wait for several minutes before their reply.
