PTI broadcasts first Facebook Live video in Pakistan

Back in September, Facebook launched its live video feature that enables verified pages on the social platform to broadcast live videos. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO Facebook, brought first such video in which he conducted a live Q&A session with Indian PM Modi. The video was viewed by more than 6.5 million people. Now for the first time, Facebook Live video feature is used in Pakistan by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Today, PTI’s Twitter Lead Mr. Ahsan Alvi and Miss Zarlasht Faisal has conducted a brief chat with popular party leader Mr. Asad Umer on his return from Islamabad. The interview got live streamed on PTI’s official Facebook page. Asad Umer was pleased to learn when told about the fact by PTI’s social media team. Recently, PTI chairman Mr. Imran Khan advised the social media team of PTI to remain ahead of the pack. Therefore, PTI’s Facebook Lead Mr. Ali Ghumman decided to give this Facebook feature a try.

The Facebook Live video got extremely popular. There was no prior advertisement regarding the video. Still, the video got more than 10,000 live viewers making it a success. Considering its success, Mr. Imran Ghazali who is the Head of PTI Social Media operations promised to utilize the Facebook Live video feature in future too. Pakistan’s currently has over 23 million active Facebook users and the number is growing rapidly. A major share of traffic is from smartphones. This certainly gonna make Facebook Live video a vital feature in coming days.
