Pakistan’s biggest IT firm NetSol to launch its own startup incubator

Pakistani startups are now gradually making their way to the international markets. Many of popular startups like WifiGen, Convo, Markhor, Savaree and others have earned investments from abroad. Few of these startups have even attended famous international startup events. Most of these startups are groomed and nurtured by Plan9 which is a project of the Punjab Information Technology Board. Plan9 is also the Pakistan’s largest tech incubator. Considering the growth of entrepreneurship in Pakistan, the country’s largest IT firm NetSol is also going to launch its own startup accelerator program.

Termed as ‘NSpire’, NetSol’s startup incubator aims to transform the local ecosystem in Pakistan. The purpose of the incubator will be to provide a platform to Pakistani startups where they can be fostered. We all know NetSol has got global recognition and is listed in NASDAQ. This will certainly gonna bring more opportunities for the startups incubated in NSpire program. The NSpire program was teased by CEO and Founder of NetSol company Mr. Salim Ghauri couple of months ago.

Recently, NetSol also organized a Hackathon-styled competition called Throwathon at LUMS. During the event, 53 teams of IT students from universities i.e. LUMS, FAST and COMSATS etc. expressed their talent in shape of creative tech ideas. Few startups i.e. Crime Alert, GesDrive Solutions, VooDoo and FeedingPakistan also participated in the event. The three day event, held on 24-26th July, concluded with the winners getting cash prizes.

NetSol is going to lift covers of NSpire in few days. We can expect that it will definitely going to caught the attention of all and will serve as a great platform to Pakistani startups out there.
