The much anticipated and awaited Microsoft’s mobile OS i.e. Windows 10 is just around the corner. Windows 10 Mobile will bring cool new universal apps, refreshed design, live tiles, background colors, enhanced Cortana, new browser Edge, new Photos app and other improvements. It will provide a seamless, cross-platform experience across all platforms. Apart from this, there are significant changes at different places for better usage.
Microsoft has not yet announced any official release date for Windows 10 Mobile. However, the company has now revealed the devices that are marked ‘Windows 10 Ready’. Here is the list of Lumia devices that will be getting Windows 10 Mobile update first:
- Microsoft Lumia 435
- Microsoft Lumia 535
- Microsoft Lumia 635
- Microsoft Lumia 640
- Microsoft Lumia 640 XL / LTE
- Microsoft Lumia 735
- Microsoft Lumia 830
If you are planning to buy a Lumia device, make sure you select out of these so you can enjoy the latest Windows 10 Mobile experience. You can see there are no high-end Lumia flagships in this list i.e. Lumia 1520, Lumia 1020, Lumia 935 etc. There is some technicalities regarding the partitions of these handsets. That’s why, Microsoft has currently delayed these devices for Windows 10 Mobile update.
Once Windows 10 Mobile makes its debut, hopefully there will be workarounds to try the new OS on non-supported devices too. As far as users with devices having 512 MB RAM, they may get few features of the latest mobile OS. Let’s see how the new Microsoft’s mobile OS competes with its rival platforms i.e. Android and iOS.
