iPhone 6S Plus vs Galaxy Note 5 vs Galaxy S6 Edge Plus vs Xperia Z5 Premium

During the last month or so, we have witnessed the launch of some real big guns. Samsung, Sony and Apple have come up with their latest giant devices. Alongside the normal variants, they have also introduced the phablets with large display and massive battery. iPhone 6S Plus, Xperia Z5 Premium, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are the hottest and the latest phablets. Here, we are going to compare all of them so you can choose the one which suits you the best. So, its time for iPhone 6S Plus vs Galaxy Note 5 vs Galaxy S6 Edge Plus vs Xperia Z5 Premium.

iPhone 6S Plus:

First of all, we will be introducing you with the iPhone 6S Plus. The Cupertino giant has recently unveiled the device and is now available across various countries. As expected, Apple has upgraded the specs of the variant to meet the tough rivalry with other manufacturers i.e. Samsung and others. iPhone 6S Plus comes with 5.5-inches 1080p display featuring 3D Touch. 3D Touch unveils completely new array of functions that can be performed depending upon the intensity of your click i.e. hard or soft. Remember, it’s not about the long touch that is already common. Apple has utilized special designed Taptic Engine to measure the intensity. Moreover, iPhone 6S Plus is designed using a new aluminum alloy that gives strength to the device. The new iPhone runs on latest 64-bit A9 processor that is 70% faster at CPU tasks and 90% faster at GPU tasks as compared to A8 processor.


Apple has upgraded primary camera to 12 MP with support for 4k recording. It comes with improved autofocus to give better quality results. A new feature ‘Live Photos’ is there to capture short clip of videos alongside every photo you take. The front camera is 5 MP with Retina flash. It means when you take the selfie, your display will light up to three times brigher. Means, no dark selfies at all! You can also change the color of flash. Apple claims that Wi-Fi should be twice fast. There is addition in available LTE bands. The Touch ID is now also improved with more accuracy and speed.

Galaxy Note 5:

Samsung has recently launched its next Note phablet with improved S-pen. The S-pen with Galaxy Note 5 looks finer and high-end with a faux metal build. Though, it is still made of plastic but gives you a premium feel. Samsung has improved the pen’s sensitivity over the device. It is now more fluent than before. The pen tip is designed to be durable and un-breakable. It has now got a new click-out mechanism to ensure more efficiency. You can now take memos without requiring your Note 5 screen to be switched on. Moving to the device itself, Galaxy Note 5 has a premium glass and aluminum design. It looks similar to that of Galaxy S6. The display is similar to last year’s however there is improved brightness, readability and color accuracy. It has got the same front and back camera that was there in Galaxy S6. Remember, Galaxy S6 has the best camera as compared to all available flagship. Though, it is beaten by Xperia Z5 in latest DxOMark points. It is enriched with Samsung Pay that utilizes fingerprint sensor along with Magnetic Secure Transmission to ensure secure transaction.

Galaxy-Note-5Samsung has used its own Exynos 7420 chipset for its Note 5 similar to that in Galaxy S6. It seems like Samsung is now shifting from Qualcomm made ones. The chipset supports Quick Charging. Galaxy Note 5 is equipped with 4 GB RAM for enhanced multi-tasking.

Galaxy S6 Edge Plus:

Alongside Note 5, Samsung has also launched elder variant of its popular Galaxy S6 Edge. The Edge Plus comes with 5.7-inches dual-edge SAMOLED display. The resolution and other details are similar to that of the Note 5 handset. All other specifications i.e. processor, RAM, camera and battery are similar to the Note 5. It also runs on the Exynos 7420 chipset and 4 GB RAM. It is equipped with the same 16 MP back, 5 MP front camera, fingerprint sensor and 3,000 mAh battery. As compared to previous S6 Edge, the device features larger display and better battery. One of the highlights of the handset is its fast charging and fast wireless charging.


There is an added feature named as the Ultra High Quality Audio for better audio quality output. The device features Samsung Pay support.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium:

The latest premium handset of Sony has already caught the eyes of everyone. Xperia Z5 Premium is the elder variant of the Z5 series. Xperia Z5 comes with 5.5-inches display that is really stunning. No 1080p, no 2k resolution, its 4k resolution with 808 ppi! Xperia Z5 has become the first smartphone to offer this resolution. Just get your 4k video and play it on Xperia Z5 and enjoy each bit of it! Here is important to mention that the handset only offers this resolution in case of 4k video being played. For normal usage, the screen operates on 1080p resolution. It is because to meet the given battery timings i.e. 2 days on normal usage. The device features 3,430 mAh battery along with a STAMINA mode that enables prime performance during playing 4k videos. It packs in 23 MP camera that is enriched rapid autofocus, lossless zoom and improved image stabilization. Xperia Z5 Premium camera has beaten Galaxy S6 Edge in latest DxOMark points. It has scored 87 points during the test, higher than Galaxy S6 Edge i.e. 86 points. The primary camera is 5 MP one for nice selfies.


Xperia Z5 Premium features Snapdragon 810 processor regarding which heat-up issues has been reported. To meet up the issue, Xperia Z5 has got two cooling pipes instead of one. It will be confirmed how it performs once we get our hands on the device. It has got 3 GB RAM lower than Note 5 and Edge Plus. The handset will be released in November 2015.
