Facebook brings Transportation on Messenger

Going with the changing trends, Facebook has now added transportation on its chat app i.e. Messenger. This new service enables you to request a ride from a car service without requiring to download an extra app. It means no need to leave the conversation as you can book a ride right from the Messenger app.

This makes it easier for you to set up plans with your family and friends. No matter what the occasion is, meeting friends for lunch, going to concert or getting late for work, just open the Messenger app and get your ride. Facebook has partnered with popular transportation service i.e. Uber. The new feature is super easy and handy to use.

All you need is to download latest version of Facebook Messenger. Now from within a conversation, tap on ‘More Menu’ and choose Transportation. Select the car service that you prefer and simply book the ride. Afterwards, you will be receiving updates on driver’s current position. You can also notify your friends that you have requested the ride. With this service, Facebook aims to make transportation as simple as sending a message.

For a limited time, Facebook is giving a free ride for first use of this service. You can enjoy a ride of up to $20 value with Uber for free. You can claim your free ride by just connecting your existing Uber account to Messenger or setting up a new account from within Messenger app. Facebook also enables you to track payment history with your service.

Facebook is currently testing transportation on Messenger. The service will soon debut in various areas of United States where Uber operates. Facebook plans to add more transportation partners and countries later on.

So, what are your waiting for? Check out if you can avail the service and share your thoughts with us.
