So, the competition for cab services in Lahore is increasing!!! The success of Careem and Savaree has certainly created an opportunity for other cab services. We recently told you that Uber is all set to launch its operations in Lahore. Now, another cab provider is initiating its operations in the city. Turkish company Albayrak is launching a taxi service on 16th February 2016 in partnership with Punjab Govt.
Albayrak is already overseeing the metro projects in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Now, it is ready to commence taxi service to facilitate the transport in the city. The company is having a fleet of 100 yellow taxis (i.e. Suzuki Swift and Honda City). The service will be termed as ‘A-Taxi’. People will be able to avail this service by dialing a UAN number or through an Android app. The UAN number and Android app is yet to be unveiled.
There will be a fare meter in Albayrak taxis that will help customers to know the cost of the trip in real-time. A GPS system will be integrated in all taxis so that you can track the location of the driver coming to pick you up. We will be able to share exact fare rates with you once the service gets launched officially.
Punjab Government has fully supported the project. CM Shahbaz Sharif has recently met the Turkish investors and inspected the cabs. We have got few words from a spokesperson at Albayrak regarding the service:
Albayrak is committed to providing better transport solutions to Lahoris. The service will cater to all kinds of people and ensure the provision of a safe and reliable commuting option.
Indeed, a great addition to transport facilities in Lahore! Hopefully, the service will also bring some promo codes as well. So Lahoris, share your thoughts regarding this upcoming service in comments section below.
